Household Tips For The Lazy Housewife

Molly Maid may be on your budget and you may not gather at luncheons to talk with your friends over the greatest and latest fad recently introduced by Martha Stewart, but household chores will still loom. There’s no way around it. And while you may hire the Flying Broom cleaning service to sweep around some dust, you still have to find a way to manage a clean home when the house cleaning service is all but a memory!

Martha Stewart and many shows like hers made all of the women of this world feel as if they were failing in the area of being a genuine homemaker. While Martha baked up banana breads and mouth watering casseroles you were burning boiled eggs. She was planting beautiful flowers and your dead roses were changing colors in the vase you should have thrown out weeks ago.

There’s no time to think about making beds and doing laundry when you work 10 hour days from your home computer selling old books on EBay and can easily afford and hire a cleaning service. However, the problem is that the cleaning service comes twice a week and with a slouchy spouse and three children, the house needs more attention than those two days of cleaning. So, what is the lazy housewife to do? Get up and get moving because it isn’t that difficult to manage the battle of the household cleaning blues if you know where to start and have the cleaning supplies you need to clean your home.

Mr. Clean is an old favorite that you should always have within an arm’s reach in every bathroom. Whenever you see the need, as you’re washing your hands, grab a paper towel from under the sink and wipe up make-up and grime in the bathroom while you’re there. Cover-Girl make-up is meant to be on the faces of women and not on the bathroom counter so when you have a spill, just wipe the blush off with a dampened Clorox wipe or Mr. Clean saturated cloth.

Comet in the kitchen is a must so anytime you need to wipe down counter tops or clean the sink, keep comet readily available to swipe away the food particles and build up on the counters. The trick to cleaning house in a hurry is to always have the supplies on hand!

Choice cleaning supplies in the appropriate rooms can save you time searching for what you need. Place the supplies in a handy place with some paper towels and you will be able to quickly clean up the area when time is of the essence. Clorox bleach should be kept in the laundry room as well as the kitchen. Mr. Clean or another deep cleaner like Mr. Clean should be kept in bathrooms and kitchens as well as any play rooms. Murphy’s Oil Soap should be kept close to any living areas with wood furniture for a quick rub down when drop-in company is on the way for a visit.

Comet cleaner or Ajax is still top notch in the kitchen and you should always keep some on hand for cleaning the kitchen and even tough grime on sinks and bathroom tubs. Remember, the best way to ensure a clean home in a New York minute is to have the supplies ready to go to work for you in a snap!

Lazy housewife or not, you will still need to put some elbow-grease into your power cleaning so roll-up your sleeves and get ready to scrub. You’ll love the squeaky-clean look your home will have after you finish and you’ll take pride in the fact that Molly Maid or the Flying Broom didn’t have a thing to do with the end results!
